On July 8th, Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas posted on social media that BlackRock currently holds nearly 700,000 Bitcoin, only 38% away from surpassing Satoshi Nakamoto as the single largest Bitcoin holder in the world (if all Bitcoin ETFs are counted as a single management entity, they have already surpassed Satoshi Nakamoto).

BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, is currently absorbing Bitcoin at a rate of 40,000 coins per month (approximately 1,300 per day). At this rate, it is expected to reach a holding of 1.20 million coins by May 2026—a remarkable performance for a product that is only two years old.
