Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on the X platform that BlackRock currently holds nearly 700,000 Bitcoin, only 38% away from surpassing Satoshi Nakamoto to become the single largest Bitcoin holder in the world (if all Bitcoin ETFs are counted as a single management party, they have already surpassed Satoshi Nakamoto). BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, is currently absorbing Bitcoin at a rate of 40,000 per month (approximately 1,300 per day), and is expected to reach a holding of 1.20 million coins in May 2026.
