On July 14, The Block reported that according to the latest documents from the U.S. Department of Justice, MoonPay's CEO Ivan Soto-Wright and CFO Mouna Ammari Siala may have been victims of a fraud case, transferring over $250,000.00 $USDT to a Nigerian fraudster. The fraudster impersonated Steve Witkoff, co-chair of Trump's inaugural committee, using a carefully crafted deceptive email address (replacing the capital letter "I" with a lowercase letter "l") to carry out the fraud. According to the Department of Justice documents, the wallet involved has been identified as being registered under the name of Ehiremen Aigbokhan in Lagos, Nigeria, and Tether has frozen approximately $40,000.00 USDT.
